*THE CULTIVATION OF IGNORANCE*

Fascism, like all forms of government, rests firmly on the sincere consent of a large part of the population... To maintain this consent, the Fascist leadership must cut off the people from any information which might cause them to doubt the complete rightness of the fixed Fascist principles... All forms of communication are carefully censored, so that the public will receive only those facts that the dictators want known... Travel to other countries must be controlled, and freedom of speech and assembly must be rigorously suppressed...

*SUPPRESSION OF LABOR AND INDUSTRY*

Fascism in Italy and Germany at first won the support of the wealthy classes both landed and industrial... These people saw in Fascism a protection against the demands of farmers and other workers... Both regimes at first upheld the rights of private property... They subjected the working classes to a rigorous discipline... As soon as they were firmly established, the dictators began to limit profit, impose capital levies, and regulate business in great detail...

*THE POLICE STATE*

Fascism depends upon the police to crush all opposition or dissent. Secret police spy on the whole population, and any casual remark against the regime leads to swift and severe punishment... Opposition parties are dissolved. Intellectual, athletic and recreational organizations are usually brought under the control of the Fascist authority... *EXTREME NATIONALISM*

Fascism is highly nationalistic... It tries to identify its principles with the country, so that disagreement will look like treason... Some other country, or some group within the country, is chosen to serve as the "enemy" and made to appear as the cause of all evils or misfortunes... For example, the Nazis in Germany represented their movement first as a crusade against the Jews, then as a fight against Communism and later as a struggle against the "attacks" from whatever neighboring country they wished to subdue or occupy... Extreme nationalism often becomes a kind of racial fanaticism...Sometimes it combines racial and religious bigotry...

*MILITARISM*

Fascism maintains among the people a permanently warlike frame of mind... Every citizen feels that he is mobilized against enemies of the regime from within, and against possible foreign foes... The dictator usually comes to power during a period of economic crisis or depression... He relieves the depression partly by employing many people in the making of armaments... To justify this procedure, he must convince the people that the country is threatened, and must point toward some of the enemies against whom the armaments may be needed...

Time Out Hidden Police Cameras Rant May 2008

This is the show that just aired this past Friday eveing 9 May 2008. The program was actually taped the Friday evening before, on 2 May 2008. Covered on the program was this Newstimes editorial focusing on the proposed hidden police cameras to be used in various areas of New Milford, CT and the police chief's comments on how he and some of the members of the New Milford Common Council claiming that the police have a right to unlimited, unchecked policing powers to be used against the very people who pay their saleries.

Crews Moving Contaminated Sand From Ship To Rail

For those of you who watched John McGowan Presents tonight, then you know that Super Bowl Steve was on during the last half hour and had referred to this radio active sand shipment to be put into a few power generating plants around the country.

Longshoremen should finish unloading 6,700 tons of sand contaminated with depleted uranium and lead Tuesday afternoon, said Chad Hyslop, spokesman for the disposal company American Ecology.

The BBC Alabama arrived at the port Saturday afternoon with the 306 containers carrying the contaminated sand from Camp Doha, a U.S. Army base in Kuwait. The sand was packaged in bags designed to transport hazardous waste.

Longshoremen unloaded the containers in two shifts Sunday, then two more Monday, Hyslop said. They wore standard safety gear, and dust protection equipment and respirators were available, he said.

However, no one has opted to wear the respirators, he said.

“It’s gone real smooth,” Hyslop said.

Half of the containers will be loaded onto 76 rail cars and transported to an American Ecology disposal site in Idaho. The other half will remain at the port until the trains return to haul them to Idaho. The containers all will be at the disposal site in Idaho within 15 to 30 days, Hyslop said.

State Department of Health personnel are at the port to test radiation levels and to ensure none of the sand spills, Hyslop said. U.S. Customs agents also were on hand to inspect the cargo, he said.

The sand became contaminated with low levels of depleted uranium following a fire at Camp Doha during the first Gulf War in 1991, according to Hyslop and Army sources. The Army then discovered potentially hazardous levels of lead in the shipment.

Hyslop said he’s been happy with the job the port and other government agencies have done in helping with the transport of the material.

“We’re extremely pleased and impressed with the outstanding professionalism of the Port of Longview,” he said.

Time Out Live 23 March 2005 I-95 Guys

Time Out Productions presents the live call in show from 23 March 2005. On the show that evening was the hosts of the WRKI I-95 FM radio show. The show was done during a blizzard and it set the record for my show for the number of different phone calls for a live call in show.

Alan Golabek Theraputic Massage

This is a program I did a few years ago on theraputic massage. On the program that evening was licensed Massage therapist Allan Golabek.

Mr Golabek is completely blind due to a motorcycle accident in his early 20's.

Mr. Golabek became the first licensed blind massage therapist graduated by the school he attended in Florida.

Time Out Half Hour Live

For a short time back in 2004, I had Mondays off and I had gotten the idea to do the Monday morning, 11am time slot live. Normally, the Monday morning show is a replay of the Friday evening show. One of these live morning shows included an interview with then 1st Selectman Judy Novachek.

The show originally aired on 30 April 2003. Once again, this was a live, half hour call in show.
