Time Out On Sports Corruption

All the way back in 1997 I did two shows with Joe Nepi, the president of the American Sports Fan Association. The rampant corruption in the professional sports world was one of the key reason why the TV show was started in the first place.

Mr. Nepi has testified before the US Congress on this issue.

In these two shows, we covered many issues that are still as fresh today as they were then. Issues like the personal seat license (PSL), the so-called move of the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore, the now defunct New England Patriots, who where replaced by the "new look" team in 1994.

Michael Duff co-hosted both programs.

LIEberman From 1998 and a Few Local Shows From The Archives

Hello once again to everyone who's watching the TV show and reading this blog. Here's the next batch of shows from the archives. First up is an interview from 10 years ago - in 1998 with Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman.

For me, it is interesting to see the change in Sen. Lieberman from a concerned senator to a rabid neocon. I've already heard from a few people via YouTube on this show about how different LIEberman is now in 2008 than he was in 1998. What a difference a decade makes!

In this episode we discuss many of the issues of the day from education to the corruption with Clinton's White House and his concerns with these issues.

From 2001 is a show from October of that year interviewing four candidates for political office in Bethel, Connecticut.

These three candidates were Jim Bryan for Selectman, Barbara Coles for Board of Ed and Patricia Wilson-Perkins for Board of Ed.

All of the candidates were incumbents and were endorsed or co-endorsed by the Pro Bethel Party.

Over the years I've listened and called into Wayne and April Winsley's radio show. On certain issues I've agreed with and on other issues disagreed with. The show went off the air in 2007.

This is part one of a two part interview.

This is part two of a two part interview.

Time Out Productions presents an interview with Fellow cable access producer Lynn Waller, the producer and host of "In Our Opinion" and who was covering Danbury for the elections that year and Gerry Mills of Bethel in a discussion of the issues leading up to the 2005 elections.

Both women are very knowledgable on the issues in their respective towns and this show made for some interesting conversation on the issues of the day.

This interview is from 2004 with then Danbury 6th Ward Common Council member Joel Urice. Mr. Urice is currently sitting on Danbury's Planning Commission and has for a few years now been co-hosting Lynn Waller's show "In Our Opinion". Her program has been running on Comcast Cable's Community Access Channel 23 for many years.

Covered were a variety of different issues including Joel's personal background.

From The Archives & New Shows

Hello everyone!

As usual, I've been busy getting more shows from the archives into digital format. There are three websites that I upload to. First is YouTube and the TV show's presence there is www.youtube.com/kgallagher01 so feel free to check it out.

The next two are Google Video and VEOH. Both have no size limits like YouTube's 100 megabyte limit. You find many of the 1 hour shows there in high quality and a few selected half hour shows also in a higher quality format.

The first show up is an interview I did with former Danbury Fair Racarena driver Lou Funk Jr. back in December 2006.

About two weeks ago, I interviewed for the second time Charlotte Iserbyt on the rampant vote fraud that has become apparent in the New Hampshire primary.

Next up is a show that never aired on Comcast because it was deemed to be "too commercial" in nature. This show was with Valerie Hoffman, an herbalist from Bethel, CT. This show was taped circa 1999.

Here is the third show with one world order researcher Dr. Daneen Peterson. She has been doing an amazing amount of research on the planned merging of Canada, the US and Mexico into one block, much like the EU.

Her website is www.stopthenorthamericanunion.com.

This is a live show from 2007 that was scheduled to be with Ed & Elaine Brown of New Hampshire to speak on their siege at their home with the authorities.

Apparently the cell phones were effectively jammed that evening and no calls could get through, so John McGowan and myself never got the chance to speak with Elaine Brown, who is now being held as a (political) prisoner in Danbury, CT.

From VEOH.com:

I had come across animator Greg Condon around year 2000. He is the guy that put together the two animated openings that I use. He's a graduate of the New York School of Visual Arts. Here is his appearance on the program.

The rock band Talking To Walls I've had on the show several times over the years. Here are the first two shows I shot with them with an earlier band line up.

At the time these shows were shot, the band's line up was John Deuth on drums, Mr. Scene on bass and vocals and Brian Kelly on lead guitar and vocals.

Part One:

Part Two:

This show was a very personal one for me to do. I talked to two cancer survivors about cancer and what they went through. Featured on the program was local Danbury Attorney Jeff Heyel and local radio personality Vinnie James.

My maternal grandmother passed away in 1977 of breast cancer. I dedicate this show to her memory.

Magician Peter James has appeared on the show a few times. This one featured him performing his act for a group of children.

Time Out Productions presents magician Peter James performing his act for a group of children.

Time Out Productions presents an interview done in early 2004 with Matt Paulsen (the chairman of the BAC) and Pro Bethel Party Chairman Bob Crnic on an ethics complaint that Matt Paulsen filed against Bethel, CT. school Superientant Gary M. Chesley for selling a 1992 Jeep Cherokee for $1 to the head of school maintenence Bob Geranaro.

They have not been on for a few years and I hope to get them back on the show again in 2008 and this is world champion kick boxers Benny "The Jet" Little in the Welterweight class and Herman "White Wolf" Arias of the Super Welterweight class.

I have had Benny Little on at least 7 or 8 other times and as I find these shows in the archives, I'll be putting them up.

Shown on part one is Mr. Little's world championship belt title defense. Circa year 2000.

Part two featured a few of the under card fights from that evening at the Mambo Cafe in Danbury, CT and also Herman Arais' title defense in the Super Welterweight class.

In March of 2006 I had the chance to interview Scot D. Lewis. In this conversation, we covered the work he did in his film "The Role" in which he wrote the screenplay, directed and starred in. The website for the film is www.therole.com

Back in 1999, Time Out Productions interviewed Mike Duff, a member of an appointed commission whom looked into updating the Senior Tax Relief program in Bethel, Connecticut. This is one of the interviews I did with him on the subject.

This is an interview from the year 2000 with then Bethel Selectman James Bryan.

The program that evening focused on the issues of that day and time and how he felt about it and what he thinks should be done about them.

This is a 2001 interview with then Selectman Jim Bryan when he was running on the Pro Bethel Party ticket for re-election in what what turned out to be a very interesting election year.

This was not only due to the tragic events of 9-11, but because the Bethel Democrats refused to support their own First Selectman candidate Jim O'Hara.

Bhutto Saying Osama Been Forgotten Was Murdered

I have to give credit to John McGowan for finding this amazing video clip from Al Jazzera. This is an interview that news anchor David Frost did with now assassinated Benazir Bhutto. Not only is it amazing what she says about 2:12 into the interview, but the total non-reaction that Frost displays.

This video was featured this past Friday night at the start of the program on Big T, a show that I now co-host. If you are blown away by this video, please pass the word around about it and make people aware of it.

1999: A Look At The Future Of The Internet

Back in 1999, I did a show with regular guest Bob Brand on the future of the internet. This is a truly interesting look back as we looked forward to see just how on target Mr. Brand was in his predictions, all of which seem quaint today.

One of my favorite parts of this video is where he states that the "MP3" song format is the big thing and you really need to have at least a 150 MHZ computer to handle it well." Oh my, how far has the internet and computers developed over the past nine years.

Enjoy the look back as we looked forward!

Danbury's Hatting & Official Written history

The show has a few returning guests that appear a few times a year. About two weeks ago this show aired that I did with Brigid Guertin, the Executive Director of the Danbury Museum and Historical Society.

In this edition, we talked about Danbury's hatting history (this show is a great compliment to the show I recently posted on Bethel's hatting history with Pat Wild and the late Cliff Hurgin) and much of Danbury official written records which contain a wealth of wonderful historical records and information.

This show aired on 28 December 2007.

More Older Shows From The Archives

In case anyone is wondering about the order in which the past shows are going up onto the blog, its like this; they're going up in the order that I do them. I'm grabbing a tape (either 3/4 inch broadcast quality or 1/2 inch VHS) and encoding the shows that are on it. For me, it has been a very interesting trip down memory lane as I go through 11 years worth of shows.

I'm still encoding the current ones and getting those up into cyber~space as well, so don't worry! ;)

First up is a few more shows that I've gotten the chance to encode fresh out of the "Time Out" vault. ;)

First up is a show that aired in late 2006. This was with jazz group The Creative Music Trio.

Featured are Phil Forbes on guitar, Pat Lavery on stand up bass and Gary Fiandra on drums.
They played a lot of really great sounding jazz that evening and I've booked them for another taping in late March of 2008 so you'll be seeing them on the show in perhaps early April.

Next is a two part presentation I did about eight years ago on Putnam Park. Joining me on the program was Putnam Park historian Henry Gibson and Janine Herman of the Friends and Neighbors of Putnam Park group to discuss the history of this Revolutionary War site and the steps that are being taken to preserve it.

This is part one of two.

This is part two of two

Around the same time period that I did the Putnam park shows, I had done this two part interview with two members from the Connecticut Robot Society and we talked about the field of robotics. Myself and many other people believe that this will be one of the biggest fields in the 21 century.

This is part one of two:

This is part two of two:

Last, but not least is what I personally thought was one of the best politically themed shows I had ever done. This show is from 1999 when Robert Crnic made his first run for the office of 1st Selectman and I ran as his running mate for Selectman in 1999.

This show aired the night before the election show and on the Tuesday afternoon of the election.

I hope you all enjoy this set of shows from the archives. Iam working on the next set right now.

New Shows From The Archives: A Look Back On Local Events

Here is the next round of shows from the archives. I've got several that I believe are very interesting to those of you in the local area.

As I am watching these shows again as they are encoded, I've come to realize more and more just how much these local politically oriented shows are snapshots in time and are almost like the local area's diary.

First up are a set of shows that are unique because they were shot digitally and edited totally on the computer. Each show took about 80 hours each to do. Wayne Spiers digitally shot all of the footage, I shot all of the still photos and Wayne did the lions share of the digital video editing.

These shows were done in 2003 at the Sycamore Restaurant in Bethel and featured the old classic cars and hot rods that people bring to show off there since 1992.

Part One For The Sycamore Cars:

Part Two For The Sycamore Cars:

Next from the archives was an interview done with Bethel, CT's then First Selectwoman, Judy Novachek. Again, the snapshot principle takes affect as we are able to take a look back as to what the important issues of the day were in the year 2000.

The next show was done with Bethel's unofficial town historian (and now former Selectman) Patrick Wild on the history Bethel shares with Danbury, CT in its hatting history.

Joining Mr. Wild on the show is former six term First Selectman Cliff Hurgin. The late Mr. Hurgin also had a wonderful knowledge of Bethel's history, which was seen here on this program.

A staple to the TV show has always been the live show. This was an important one because this show came near the end of the battle with the town to get the town's elderly tax relief program updated. This live call in show featured Michael Duff who was appointed to the committee that looked into updating the program and Bob Crnic, the co-founder and chairman of The Pro Bethel Party, who was chiefly instrumental in getting the movement started and pushed through the update with the help of many of the town's seniors and myself.

This live show aired 15 March 2000.

Time Out Live 21 June 2006 With Dave vonKliest

Back on 21 June 2006, I did a live call in show with Dave vonKliest. He is the host and producer of the ground breaking 9-11 documentary "911: In Plane Site." On The program that evening, we spent a good hour discussing the many anomalies at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Enjoy the show!

Time Out Presents John McGowan Excluded

Time Out Productions presents an interview with 2007 Danbury, CT mayoral candidate John McGowan who was excluded from debating simply because he was running on a 3rd party line (The Concerned Citizen Party).

Mayoral candidate McGowan was told quote that he would be allowed into the room of the debate to video tape the event, but he couldn't take part in it even though he was a certified candidate by the Connecticut Secretary of State.

This interview with Mr. McGowan details this amazing turn of events in much detail.

Digging even deeper into this sad incident is the fact that someone called the Danbury Police to physically keep mayoral candidate McGowan from entering the debate as a candidate. In retrospect, there really were only two persons that day who could have authorized the police to be used in such an outrageous way. First was Stephen A. Bull who is head of the Danbury Chamber of Commerce which was the group running the debate and the other would be none other than current Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton.

If after viewing this video you feel that an injustice was done against mayoral candidate McGowan's civil rights, feel free to call the Danbury Chamber of Commerce and speak to Stephen Bull about how you feel. Remember, be direct and polite. His phone number is (203) 743 - 5565 and his e-mail is stephen@danburychamber.com.

Also feel free to call Mayor Mark Boughton's office. The telephone number is (203) 797 - 4511 and again, be direct, but polite and let these poeople know that this kind of political racism is inexcusable.

Time Out Election Night Live 2005

From the archives: The election night show from 2005. This is what I did on New Year's eve: encode all three hours of the 2005 election night show and this should be in very good video and audio quality.

Shows like this one are really time capsules. They show us in minute detail was was important to us in a moment of time. It is a political snapshot of the issues.

New Set Of Shows From The Archives

It has been an interesting couple of weeks. For those of you who read this blog and watch the videos posted here on a regular basis, I'll let you in on a little that has been happening here on my end with the computers. To put it lightly, it has been hellish. I've had both of my computers crash and my six month old 200 GIG drive is dead as well. It is this hard drive that holds all of my show's files and tons of other important things like family pictures and movies. Bummer. So if anyone out there reading this blog knows how to get data off of a dead drive, please let me know.

So now that I've gotten my computers back up, I have several shows that I had encoded to my computer and did not get uploaded before the crash. Here they are.

First up is a show with regular guest Chris Cox, who owner the pet store Tropical Exotics in Bethel. I have another show posted that I did with him on fish tank care and setup and this is my most viewed show on YouTube. In this edition he brings in a live Emperor Scorpion and a live Rose Haired Tarantula.

Christmas 2007 has just past, so lets take a quick peek back to Christmas 2005, with the Christmas show I did for that year.

This next guest is someone I have never met face to face, but I've had on the show three times now and his third appearance was just a few weeks ago. This is "Super Bowl Steve" and we continue our discussion on what he was told back in 1988 regarding what the world elite were planning to have happen in the early 21st century, the rime we are living in now. His website is www.superbowlsteve.com if you would like to learn more about what he has to say.

Back before Ed & Elaine Brown were taken into custody, Pastor Butch Paugh had driven all the way up to New Hampshire to drop off some supplies for them. On His way back home, he very kindly took the time to stop in Danbury, CT were the show is taped and speak with me on their situation and a number of other issues. Also featured in this program is part of his presentation at the conference he ran back in early June of 2007.

From the time I had started the show over 11 years ago, I have always wanted to have to current sitting Govenor of Connecticut interviewed on the program. This happened back in 2006 when I interviewed CT Gov. M. Jodi Rell. We talked about several issues facing the state and the legislature. The editor to the Bethel Beacon showed up and the taping made the front page of the paper that week.

He was the first big guest I had on the show. His name is Wes Anderson and he is still considered by many jazz critics to be one of the finest jazz saxophone players in the entire world.

Like the show with Gov. Rell, this was a show that I wanted to do for a long time and got the chance to do so. I had gotten to know this man going back to 1994. He was for 17 years the saxaphone player in Wynton Marsalis' band. So back in 2000, he told me his was going to be in Norwalk, CT and we were able to get some wonderful footage of him playing live (with later guests) The Joyce DiCamillo Trio. That day we taped two shows with him. Here they are.

Part One With Wes Anderson:

Part Two With Wes Anderson:

The day we went down to tape with Wes Anderson, there was this wonderful jazz trio playing. I has approached them about being on my show and I got their business card. I set up with them a time to tape and as it turned out, this set of shows were in my humble opinion some of the best musically themed shows I've ever done.

The trio brought along some excellent video of them playing and the discussion around the table was very engaging and intense.

Part One With The Joyce DiCamillo Trio:

Part Two With The Joyce DiCamillo Trio:

Next is an early interview I did with Bethel Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Gary Chesley. In This program, we had talked about the issues that were important at the time of the taping. It goes to show how the saying "the more things change, the more they stay the same" rings very true.

A few weeks before the Batman Begins movie came out in 2005, I did a show with Cave Comics store owner Pat Callanan. Pat, like myself, is a huge fan of Batman and we talked about the history of the character and the upcoming movie which starred Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred and a stellar cast to support them. It has become one of my favorite movies one that I'll take out and watch a few times a year.

Batman Begins is as a friend of mine told me, the best comic book movie ever made. I agree and the reason is because it seemed to me to have feel of a 1940's drama, very in depth character development and with a good look at how all of the characters relate to each other.

I met our next guest down in West Virginia at Pastor Butch Paugh's conference back in June 2007. Alexander B. Cuppett was an Action Officer in the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Mr. Cuppett has 31 years of active military experience with an above top secret security clearance. He speaks on a variety of issues facing the nation in this very intense show.
